Question:

Camp sites near Melton Mowbray?

Surely, the closest can't be Innarla Caravan & Camping Park. xD

I need the name of a site that has pitches for tents. As long as it's closer to Melton Mowbray than Innarla Caravan & Camping, then it will do.

Thanks in advance.

There is Greendale Farm Park, but that is sevenish miles away from Melton - so it depends how you feel about six/seven miles! It's near Rutland water, which is very beautiful and has loads of things to see and do if you ever get bored before bedtime.

(There is a proper website for the park, but my laptop keeps freezing when I try to go on it. The links on the page there, anyway- Edit: b*****d Firefox, works on Internet Explorer http://www.rutlandgreendale.co.uk/)

Apart from that, they're all quite far. There are a few about 15 miles away and whatnot, but Im not sure you're going to beat 7ish miles.

Campsite in Langham with a bus route to Melton Mowbray, 8 miles away. That might be worth a shot. I've read it has spaces for pitching tents but the actual website doesnt seem to say anything about it.

If you happen to be a member of The Caravan Club, there's a C.L site on Asfordby Road near Melton, which I think is closer. Unfortunately though, it's members only, and you can't read details about it unless you're a member too.

So, the Greendale place seems your best bet!

Unless you camp in local farmer Mr. Painter Jrs field, of course.

    Not sure he'll like that.

Edit2: Camp in my Dads field. He has an outside toilet, but no sandwich facilities. And you might get run over by a tractor... Or some chickens.
