Campaigning is so outdated, why should americans waste their time and energy listening to a load of c**p?

it is absolutley ridiculous and is not helping americans when we really need it most. when we are deciding who is most popular through headlines and media, candidates are wasting a crapload of money that could be used for this problem in our economy we are encountering today because of the war with Iraq. This campaigning prolongs the election at the National Convention for about a YEAR! a complete waste of time and energy put forth by Americans that have needs. This campaigning was a necessary infrastructure when it was created back in the 1700s. Now that we have means of travelling and communicating, why even bother?

Campaigning is how people get to know the candidates so they can make a decision about who they would like to see as president.  This one started way too early and was a waste of millions of dollars.  Its also an unusual election because there are no incumbents running.  There is a black man and a woman running.  The country is experiencing the worst problems in many years.
