  1. I would move as far from the shore as possible you could get into trouble if you have too close to shore I wouldn't go too far away from shore I'd say probably a little farther back than midway :)

  2. I have seen many beaches where people use disposable bbq sets - even beaches where there are regular life guard and police patrols. I assume that they are OK to uise then.

If I was going to have a proper fire on the beach I would do it below the high tide line - that way it all gtets washed away, but you also have to be aware of when the high tide is going to be - or else it will be there when you want the fire. You can get high tide info from the weather forcast, internet and ceefax / teletext

Go fo it - the worst that can happen is a wave will wash over it and it will go out or someone will say 'put it out'

  3. Any part of the beach covered by the high water mark belongs to the crown so better not have it there.

  4. Laws vary from place to place. However, fires should NEVER be made on dunes or above the high-tide level. If you build a clean burning fire and remove any unburned wood, so as to only leave ash, the ocean will take care of cleaning up your mess. If you MUST build a fire above high water level, it is best to use a brazier, fire pan, or some sort of similar device that will allow you to clean up your ashes and fire remnants with ease. Some places hae a rule where you must use one. You shoould always check ahead to see what the fire restrictions are where you plan to go.
