Camping World Truck Series moves to Loudon, New Hampshire – NASCAR news
With the Nationwide series on a break, there are only two events to be held at Loudon this weekend.
The Sylvania 300 is generating all the hype in the area but the truck series title race is also heating up and with just 6 points separating the top 3, the F.W. Webb 175 on Saturday could prove to be a crucial race for the Series.
James Buescher still leads the series after an 11th place finish in Chicago. His lead however, has been cut down to just 3 points with Austin Dillon winning the race at Chicago and is now hot on Buescher’s heels. Johnny Sauter has
also closed him down after finishing 6th in the last race.
Buescher is yet to win a race all season, with Dillon having already won 2 and Sauter has one win to his name as well.
The key to Buescher’s top position in the Series has been his consistency. With the highest number of top 5 and top 10 finishes in the Series, Buescher will be hoping the other drivers around him slip up as he keeps accumulating points.
Dillon will be hoping to capitalise on a good run of form and his form in New Hampshire has been encouraging, having finished fifth here in the 2010 season.
Four-time Champion Ron Hornaday will also be looking to make a late title surge after his win in Atlanta. With Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) closing down its truck operations, Hornaday and his teammate Nelson Piquet Jr. will be without a team next year and will
be hoping to leave in impression on other teams to secure their employment somewhere.
Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch will be looking to warm up for Sunday’s Sprint Cup Race with a victory at the Truck series race. Between them, they have 8 wins in the truck series season so far and Kyle Busch has won this race here for the last two seasons.
The race will also see NASCAR Mexico Series Champion, German Quiroga, driving with Kyle Busch Motorsports on a one-race contract. This is a test drive by Kyle Busch Motorsports to see if Quiroga will be interested in racing here in the future.
“I'm excited about the opportunity to represent Telcel, my fellow Mexicans and all of Latin America driving for Kyle Busch Motorsports in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway,” Quiroga said.
This is going to be 16th Camping World Truck Series race to be held at New Hampshire. The 1.058-mile track will consist of 175 laps and will have 34 participants racing it out for the points, with the winner also getting a prize
money of US $55,425.
