  1. All New York state parks are very well maintained.  You will almost always find the bathrooms clean, and if you find one that isn't, there'll be park personnel available at the office to whom you can report the need for a cleaning.  The only animals you're likely to encounter are small ones, but they can be noisy and they should be left strictly alone.  If you were to see one, such as a raccoon, leave it alone, don't feed it and don't throw things at it.  There should be no problems with the wildlife in the area.  Don't forget your bug repellent...

  2. Hi Des,

I'm in NY about 70 miles from Chenengo Valley State Park.  I. haven't been to that one in particular but have been to many in NY and worked at one. You will love the parks in NY. I live between two of them ...  3 miles to the east is Seneca Lake State Park and 4 miles to the east is Cayuga Lake State Park.

Generally the sites are adequately big and the bathrooms are clean.  As for animals .... the worst you might see is a racoon or Big foot lol!  A few deer might circulate ... bears & wolves are generally farther north.

Lots of good fishing here in the Finger Lakes region and the wine trails are a favorite :)
