Camping in COLORADO?

So i live in colorado, and we are planning a camping trip and i wanna know if anyone knows of any secluded campsites along I-70, where you are not going to be right next to someone else who is camping, that isnt a "DRY" campsite(we would like to have beer LOL), and is possibly is free : ) Thanks in advance to anyone who responds!!!!!!!!

  1. Jones Pass is awesome!

    Head up I-70 and get off at the empire exit like your going to Winter Park. Go through Empire and few miles down (just before you start going up Berthoud Pass) you turn left. I think there is a sign there for the Henderson Mine. Head down that road until you actually get to the mine. There is a little dirt road to the right at the Mine's gate, take it. Then just head up until you find a good spot. The road will eventually take you over the pass (just under 13,000ft) and drop down the other side. There's more camping over there. Make sure you have a truck or SUV with some ground clearance. A honda civic will not make it up. It's free, usually not crowded, and no rangers so you can be as loud and annoying as you want.
