My mother is making us camp for two weeks in Texas and I don't think that it's a good idea because its really hot. So if you live there or know anything about it could you tell me if it's a bad idea.

  1. I live in Texas, and I LOVE camping. Of course, when we go, we have an RV that has a pull out shade so that helps. We always camp on a lake too so that helps a lot. Camping is fun

  2. Lived here all my life, I avoid camping in our summers (by the way it is supposed to make 104 degrees here today) If you must, find a place near the water, it cools the air a bit.

I prefer to camp here in the late fall through early spring

  3. Make sure you have a tarp or something for shade, drink lots of water and plan all your activities for early in the day. Leave the afternoon for swimming, chilling in the shade or lounging in a hammock reading a good book
