Camping in the san diego area? no further than an hour away...?

Question

anyone know is some great camping sites near san diego? I am willing to drive at most maybe 1-2 hours

I'm am not really a desert kinda of camper, so foresty type place maybe with some water near by?

You can camp right on the shore of Lake Cuyamaca, its about a 1.5 hour drive.  There is a nice walking path along most of the lakeshore.  They stock the lake with trout, bass, catfish, and strugeon.  There are a lot of hiking trails in the nearby in the woods.

Palomar mtn has some nice first come first serve sites set in a forest setting with lakes and great hiking near by.
