Camping near San Francisco?

Question

I live in the bay area and want to go camping not too far away from SF. I would like to drive somewhere thats 1 1/2 hours or less away...beach access is a plus at the campsite...and we want to bring our dog...so the site must let us bring him. Best answer gets 10 pts! Thank you !!!

I'd go to Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park. They allow dogs in the developed areas of the campground and you can take them on Pfeiffer Beach.

Doran beach in Sonoma county is great. Everyone brings there dog as they do not have any restrictions concerning your dog except to pick up after it and keep iot on a leash. Camp taylor does not have a beach and is several miles from the ocean. Others around big sur restrict where you can take your dog. This is why I like Doran beach. You can camp there with a tent or a RV, or even ride a bicycle there. It would be about 1 & 1/2 hour or less from SF.
