  1. You can't camp on the beach, health and safety, and all that.

Think about Pentewan, between St Austell and Mevagissey. You couldn't get much closer to the beach, it's just a few yards, www.pentewan.co.uk.

  2. You're not allowed to camp on beaches in Cornwall! Why would we want a load of people in tents filling up our beaches with tents, noise and litter!

  3. you can't ... a warden will be along to shift you and if you don't go you'll get arrested

  4. The best places to camp on the beach without being moved on in Cornwall are....

Fistral dunes above Fistral beach in Newquay...

Boobies Bay Dunes just across from Constantine Bay (My recommendation as it's mind blowingly stunning).

Unlike England, Cornwall's beaches are much more relaxed places and I've never come across any trouble from pitching a tent or sleeping bag on a beach when there are just a few of us.

  5. It depends on the beach, and who owns it.

Most beaches are owned by the city council, and so it is illegal to camp there.

Different laws may apply outside of the summer season (ie dogs being allowed) but I don't think camping is ever allowed

If you're not sure, ring up the cornish council and ask them.

  6. Theres not many places you can but theres are loads of sites right next to the beach...  I tend to pitch up and if the  weather conditions are right ,  just take the sleeping bag out and sleep under the stars.

  7. unfortunately, england being what it is, you will probably get arrested.  there is no where that you can camp for free in this country unless you are an illegal traveller such as gypsies.

there are  paying campsites close to beaches or

you could try a farmer . he might allow you  to pitch tent in one of his fields but  free camping on cornish beaches? no chance.

having said that, i would be delighted if someone could tell me i'm wrong. it would be nice to know we have some freedom left

  8. higher a guard, you don't want to wake up with a mouth full.

why sleep on the beach, i'm sure there is a nice hotel on the beach. spa treatments, dining, stroll at sunset, shopping at noon, turn down service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

be careful, sounds scary, to me.

  9. You can't it is illegal

  10. i live in newquay and you most certainly cannot camp on the beaches or anywhere else which is not an official campsite...be warned if you are found camping on a beach you will be escorted out of the county....the police are very strict on this i'm afraid....if i were you, go to a campsite, there are many in cornwall.
