Camping site and a campground?

what is the difference between a camping site and a campground?? thanx.

that is it exactly...most of the time you don't pay to set up your own campsite

a campground can be a very developed, elaborate place complete with electricty, huge RV's, showers, tennis courts and the whole 9 yards

a campsite can be just a designated place in the backcountry to set up your tent--no bathrooms, no little kids, just you in the middle of the wilderness
