I'm taking my 2 yo daughter camping. Not wilderness camping but campground camping. Just looking for some advice on what to bring and maybe some outdoor activities that we can do. She loves to be outside so I don't think it'll be a problem getting her to get dirty. lol.

  1. I have brought my children camping since the first was two months, the second was seven months, and the third was two months as well.  I love camping.  One thing about camping is that it seems to calm the children, even my hyper one.  When we are out in the woods they behave much better.  When they were this age they liked going on nature walks with me just showing them the different flowers, looking at the river etc.  They loved to play in the sand, collect pine needles and cones.  All I used to bring for them was lots of sand containers of different shapes and sizes (such as large sand buckets, small sand buckets, sifters etc.), some coloring books, and for my son a couple of his trucks he likes to push around.  If they have a favorite toy bring that so they do not miss it.  She will have fun playing in the water, in the sand, and spending time with you.  Have a good time.  Yes as others said some sidewalk chalk, and a kite are good ideas as well.  Bring her some extra clothes, warm sleepers and sweaters for the night time, extra blankets etc.

  2. I believe my daughter (Preplicious) already answered your other Q about this on what to bring clothes - wise. For toys try playground balls, chalk (if there's concrete there), sand and water toys for the beach, bubbles, if she has a little bike, bring that, some large legos that can get dirty, books to read, toys for on the way there, stuffed animals, a kite, a play tent, playdough, playdough toys/molds, a few washable dolls, if she's sporty a plastic baseball or golf set. Look through her outside toys, if you think something will work at a campsite, bring it along.

  3. Hopefully there is some concrete and you can bring chalk, playdough in case there is a rainy day, lots of sunscreen and bugspray, a kite, waterballoons, plenty of 'treats', books for the ride up and some movies for a possible rainy day as well hope that helps
