  1. Your question has very incomplete info. Information you would want to include for a question like this would include the type of camcorder, type of disk, computer type(mac or pc). So for a best guess, the disk probably won't play in media player because it uses a format that media player can't play(which includes many formats.) Offhand without any info on the camera, I can't solve the problem for you, but you can try to right click on the video file, click properties and check the file extension. Then do a google search for that file extension and start there, you most likely need to download a video codec(which is computer terminology for a file that tells media players how to play that kind of video.) If your disk(which by disk I assume you mean DVD) plays in a dvd player, you can probably download and install a DIVX coded to get it to play with media player. As far as copying the disk, the easiest way to do that would be to download disk burning software. There are many options for that, including free programs, but the most popular and simplest one I can think of is Nero. Sorry I can't be more specific, but your question is too vague to be answered with specifics. Hope I pointed you in the right direction.

  2. Does the camcorder record to a DVD or a hard disk drive? You may need to get the video off the disk with software that came with the camera, though any program such as Windows Movie Maker, Final Cut, or Avid should work. If it's a DVD, you may not be able to re-use the disk unless it's a DVD-RW.
