when i click the chess game in yahoo ,it would,nt come up to let me play

Could be a number of problems.

Perhaps, you were trying to make an illegal. Check for messages.

Enable the feature which hi-lites the only legal moves. Click it on the top bar for options (assuming you were already playing a game). If you do not agree on the legal moves shown, check the rules of play.

Perhaps the game was already finished and you missed the messages. If so, then start a new game.

Get some help from a more experienced player.
