Can 10.25 diapters still get a waiver in the navy if you have an astigmatism?

i have an astigmatism with 10.25 diopters of refraction, I'm wondering I'm wondering whats the chance the navy will give me a waiver, and if they don't, what are my options.

  1. no.  +/- 8.00 is the limit.  For all Branches.  you will not be allowed to serve in any Branch.  


  2. Are you trying to come in as enlisted or officer?

    They have two different standards.

    And the real question...what is it correctable to?

    If it is correctable to 20/70 then you can come in as enlisted.

    If it is correctable to 20/20 then you can come in as an officer.

  3. Your astigmatism is related to your refractive index exceeding plus or minus eight diopters of spherical error. So, it is disqualifying for entry into the armed forces. They can try for a waiver, but it might be a long shot even though waivers of refractive index standards tops the list for waiver approvals.
