why not they must know  about compassion from the time they are young. This helps them to become better people.

Not at the one where I volunteer.  They say it is a safety issue.  Kids from 13-15 can volunteer if accompanied by an adult at all times.  Those 16+ can volunteer on their own.

Contact your local shelter to find out their rules though.  It may be different.

It depends on the shelter. You will need to call them yourself and ask. If you can't manage that, then you are not ready to volunteer.

You can find animal shelters in your phone book. When you call one, ask them if there are other animal shelters in your area.
