Can 14 year olds get a job in Virginia?

I reeeeally need some money. i was wondering if teenagers my age can get a job in Virgina. Lorton area to be specific. I am turning 15 in october.

Your best bet is to cut lawns.   If you do it right, you can make as much as you would at a regular job, and it would be a lot more enjoyable than anything in a store or a restaraunt.  

But to give you the straight answer, you are going to have trouble finding an employer who wants to deal with the trouble of a 15 year old, so it can be tough to find a job.  If there is anything dangerous about the job, you have to be 18.  If you are under 16, you need a permit, are limited on how many hours you can work, and so on--so many store and restaraunt owners won't feel like messing with all the restrictions and paperwork for a summer employee.  It can't hurt to ask, but without a car, you need to be on a bus route to get there.  

So go into business for yourself.  Find something people want, and do it for them and get paid. They won't stop you from doing that.

you can do things like cut grass for neighbors, walk dogs, babysit, ect. you cant do things like work in retail stores (walmart, bestbuy, ect).
