Yes, you can fit 22 inch rims on a 1996 deville, but its not adviceable, as the limit for any sedan in size would be a 17" to ensure proper handing and safety. With a 22 inch rim fitted the tire would constantly be blowing cause the profile tire would have to be as thin as paper to fit in that wheel, and you can't deny the reality as 22's are for TRUCKS.

Yes 22"x 8.5" rim with a 25 series tire or a 30 series tire will slightly scrub on turns but rides better
