Can't Figure Out Why Speakers Won't Work!?

Mkay, so I just moved, which meant that I had to move the computer as well. Well, its all set up, obviously, but I can't get the speakers to work. I plugged them in to the back of the tower. I then restarted the computer thinking that it would start up the speakers. No luck. So I checked the volume of the computer sound itself (The little speaker button on the start menu) and everything is where its supposed to be, and nothing is muted. I don't know if there is anything in My Computer that I have to check/uncheck or just something I have to do.

Any ideas on what I have to do?

Just to let you know, I have an HPv75 computer with Windows XP...if that will help.

Oh, and yes I'm sure I'm turning them on, just the button that lights up when they are on isn't lighting up and no sound comes out of them. ;D

  1. Is there power going to the Speakers i.e. power cord or adaptor transformer?

If transformer borrow a cheap volt meter and check the output.

Are your speakers plugged into the "Green" female pin jack connector?
