I can't fully make out where it says he was born, can anybody help (I won't say what I have deciphered to prevent influencing you).

  1. I trust my answer will back up your suspicions.  The person in question was born in Glasgow.

  2. I've done magnification, more magnification...and I'm stumped!

Not knowing Scottish towns and the like, I'd not even attempt to venture an opinion!  Good luck!

(One thought...might the place of birth be a Parish name?)

  3. The top line looks like Ireland County Lyon and the second line looks like something Glasgow in your second photo.

    Does that help?

    Glasgow is in Lanarkshire.

  4. In reply to yr question.  One of the places looks like Glasgow.

I'm sorry I can't help you further with this, but perhaps the following can give you some assistance:-

Glasgow & Western Scotland Family History Society.

Their site is: gwsfhs.org.uk and they have a list of towns and villages in that area.

    Good luck.
