Question:

Can't adjust time on Windows XP

I already double clicked the time on the bottom right on my computer screen and adjusted the time, but it keeps saying something like this: 13:37 when it's really 1:37 pm here. I also clicked "apply" and "ok" when I adjusted it too. Is there something wrong with my computer? Any tips could help too.

  1. 13:37 is indeed 1:37 PM.. All you need to do is change the time format to 12 Hrs from 24 Hrs..start>Control panel>date time language options>change the format of number date.. Bingo!!!

  2. There is no problem you just in 24 hr mode.

all you do is go to start and control panel switch to classic view. then click region and language options(its the globe) then click on customize under regional options mine is right next to English(United States) then go to time the set time fomat to

    h:mm:ss tt

    and thats it

    :)

  3. Right click on your time , goto Adjust Date/Time. Then adjust your time and click on your time zone , if you are in the U.S. click on automatically adjust to daylight then click on internet time in there click on automatically syncroize with internet time server. You can just use time.windows.com hit apply and save

If it still reverts back to the wrong time Go back into the time zone and change it to a completely different time zone and apply and close it. Then open it back up and reset it to the correct time zone. I've had it hang and not adjust in the past until I applied a different time zone and went back in and reset it. Hopefully this works.

  4. Nothing wrong.  It is running on a "24 hour clock."

To change to a 12 hour format

Start| Control Panel / Regional and Language Options / Customize / Time / Time Format /

From there select one of the formats with a small 'h'.

  5. Changing the Regional and Language Options

You can use the Regional and Language Options tool in Control Panel to customize the way Windows handles dates, times, currency values, and numbers.

To open the Regional and Language Options tool: 1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

    2. Click Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options, and then click Regional and Language Options.

    3. To change one or more of the individual settings, click Customize.
