Question:

Can't buildings that are a mail or more higher be built?? I mean it is not like no one has the monet to....

Build them, wouldn't it be great in a hot summer's bay to go up the elevator and see some snow on the windowsill!! say somewhere in a city in a high latitude... a don't know... Portland?! :) (yah, this building could have to be two mails hight! But way not!)

  1. The problem with a building a mile high, is not building it but getting to the top of it.

    You will not do the journey to the top by using one elevator but you will have to change several times on the way up.

    It might be fun to live or work at the top but it will get tiring keep haveing to change from one elevator to another every time you arrive or go home.

    It also is down to cost.

    Land is expensive, but the higher you go the dearer it gets to build and the stronger the bottom floors need to be.

    By the time you go a mile high it is probably cheaper to buy more land and build out side ways.


  2. The tech for building them a mile high or more has been around for a while now, as I recall reading an article about that topic some time ago, but why would anyone want too ?
