  1. Firstly you don't say if this is  a new problem or you have never been able to connect to the internet via your laptop

Initially I would reboot the router by pulling the power plug for 30s and allowing to reset.

See if you can connect after that - if not here is a link from microsoft about setting up your router

You don't say which type of USR robotics router you have nor operating system of your laptop and without that info not able to help much more

but try this on your PC

Launch a Web browser. In the location or address line of your Web browser, type http://192.168.123.254 to access the Web User Interface. The default user name is admin.

There is no default password. Click OK to login.

This may get you into the routers interface so you can look/reset the security settings and apply them to your laptop

USR have a very good support site so you can alos look there

  2. Try re-installing any IE add-ons you've got as this may help. Also, if you're not using IE7 already upgrade to it now. Do not get IE8 yet as it is still in the testing phase and not ready for general use. The other thing I can think of is trying out firefox 3. It's an alternative to Internet Explorer. It is much faster at loading pages and has as many add-ons (if not, more) as Internet Explorer. You can get it here -

    Firefox 3.0.1

    http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox...

Even if you install firefox, keep IE on your system
