Can't dial on BlackBerry Pearl 1830?

in the top right corner it says "CAP", so whenever I test message it's in caps lock. And when I try to change it, it just says "NUM" in the top right.... but for some reason I can't dial. Please tell me how to fix this.

Try performing a hard reset: remove the battery from the device (while it is still powered on) for 10 seconds, then reinsert.
