Can't erase my cd-rw?

i put a bunch of songs on a cd-rw and now i wanna delete it so i can reuse it...i tried erasing it on nero but while its erasing it ejects the cd and says an error occured while trying to erase the cd...why?..and what should i do?

  1. Maybe your CD is full or scratches, dirt etc.

    You can just buy a new one, one's not very much expensive anyway.


  2. open with windows media player and click on the burn tab and there will be a pencil icon on the top and click it to erase the disk if the error appears than the disk you made was write at once disk which means you cannot erase the contents.  Good luck.  

  3. Try formatting it. Nero should have a format function, or, if you have a PC, try right clicking on the CD drive in My Computer and selecting "Format..."

  4. The Cd-Rw format and writing operations are diffrent. The Disc has a limit of how many times it can be reused. Most likely, you used it up to its limit.

    Try cleaning the disc to get the dirt and scratches off. It gives you a higher chance of it being usable again
