Question:

Can't get earrings out?

Okay, so I can't seem to get my earrings out! I just got them pierced about a week ago, and I haven't had them out yet at all. They gave me the type of earrings that are more "safe" as in they won't come out too easily. And really, they don't come out easily. I even had to get my mom to help get them out, and they still won't come out! They are the type of earrings that have a backing to them that I guess you have to twist out somehow. It hurts when I try to get them out! Is there a easier way to get them out? Like use water or oil or something on the earring/earlobe? Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks!

  1. I got mine done last week and I was told that I had to keep them in for 6 weeks. It makes life alot easier because it means you won't have as much a hard time trying to get a different pair in. My friend had hers pierced a few years ago and she was telling me that she took hers out about 2 weeks too earlier, which made it really difficult to get a new pair in. We both had the lobes done (bottom, soft, fleshy part) but if you have the cartilage (top, harder part) pierced then the length of time is different because it takes longer to heal up.

You want your ears to heal up, but not tightly around the earring posts. Twist them a few times a day to ensure that they don't "eat" the earrings... if you don't twist them and they heal tightly around the earring post then it will be really painful when you try to get them out.

Also, if you are trying to get the earrings out to clean your ears, that is not neccessary. Most good piercers provide customers with a solution to clean your ears with.. and you can use these with the earrings still in.

Obviously, no one can force you to care for your ears, you have to be responsible and take care of them yourself, otherwise they could get seriously infected and you will encounter pain alot worse than having the actual pircing itself  done.

If you have just decided that you don't want your piercing anymore and you just want the gap to close up, try using pliers or vegetable oil to try and loosen the earring (is it a butterfly backed one? - if it is, you sould be able to loosen it by squeezing the 2 parts together. Whatever you do, don't put any pressure on the actual ear itself, just the earring. Because your piercing is so new, it is not very strong and could easily rip so please be careful!!!

I think that is e verything, and good luck ;) x
