Question:

Can't get in nose s***w?

I got my nose pierced a little over a month ago. The piercer put in a thick large surgical or titaniam steel nose scew, not sure which. I bought two new nose screws that are 14 karat gold but a lot smaller and thinner. After working the original nose s***w out of my nose, I tried to put in one of the new ones and I absolutely could not get it in, i had to put back in the old one. I don't understand why it wouldn't go in? Should I just get a straight nose stud to put in instead of a s***w? When I put in one of my gold earring studs for a second to hold the spot, it went right in. Maybe I should just wait until my nose heals more?

  1. You should be able to go back to the shop and have the piercer insert the new nose s***w for only a few dollars.

  2. putting in a nose s***w is an artform!  When I got mine done I had to take it out after a month for work.  It's inadvisable to take it out at this point anyways, but I had to so I did.  The first time I freaked out because I couldn't get the original one in...so I tried a L bend ring...a little difficult but I got it.  My advice is to get a compact mirror or stand by the medicine and just work it in...you'll know when you get it in, it feels kinda weird, lol.  I love mine though, I wasn't able to put in the bigger gauge for 3 months, but I finally was able to after it healed up.  Now I have no problem putting in any nose ring...just practice!!!!

The only problem I've found with smaller gauges is that the stones are too small...especially on a larger gauge hole...just be careful and make sure the post and where the jewel is put is long enough...I had a nose rings top travel it's way halfway into my piercing...not fun!

  3. mine took over 3 months to heal...so just wait a month or 2 .....
