Question:

Can't get my washer open in Germany?

All of my clothes are in the washer right now, and it's done, but there's no handle to pull open the door. There's a yellow button called tuer, which doesn't open it by itself but must help; an on/off button,"mit vorwasche","wasser plus","schongang","kurz", and a mystery button next to two lights labelled "startvorwahl" and "restzeit". It's a Miele novotronic w 918, if that helps. Anyone have ideas?

  1. Caryan is right. You turn the thing to "Ende", but leave the electricity ON. Then you push the "Tür" button. This works, like the other have mentioned, only after a little while....so wait about 5 minutes after it says finished.

  2. Did you power off before the vacuum was released?

Try turning the machine on so that it automatically completes the cycle (may take a few minutes - it may appear to have finished but hasn't really). The machine sits a while before the vacuum is released *then* switch off and you can open by pressing the 'tür' button.

  3. You might just have to leave it for a while (so the water can drain) before the door will open.

Come back in 20 mins then press all the buttons!

  4. I have a Miele myself.

Turn the round k**b around to Ende. Make sure the washer is on, then press on the button Tuer and  you can open it. In case it doesnt work, try the following.

In front on the left side there is a flap. Open it (I take a key or a knife)  And if it is open you can see a yellow plastic strip then pull it and you can open the door.

    (Sorry for my poor English)
