Can't get my yahoo group started, no veriification code can be obtained, alternate addresses aren't available,

I cannot check alternate e-mail addresses for verification codes, they do not respond. Can't get groups started

I'm not understand completely what you mean. there is a Word Verification that needs to be entered while creating a group, it's one of the  steps. I'm not sure what you mean by addresses unless on Step 3 of 3: Select your Yahoo! Profile and Email Address you're having an issue there. if that's the case, there's an issue on your end with an alternate e-mail address, maybe it's disabled or not confirmed
