Question:

Can't get rid of lice!!!

I'm liek really desperate. My mother and I have tried RID like 5 times, and I think the reason it's not working is that we can't get rid of all the eggs. When you buy those metal combs, and it says to comb the hair, does that get rid of the eggs or do you still have to pick them all out? BTW, I'm trying to do it myself because I don't think my mom did a very good job the last time. She kind of gets really mad at me (like I can help it!) so I'm trying to comb.pick out all the eggs myself, whic his HARD because my hair is long.

Anyway, my question is, can I just comb out the eggs or will they crawl back onto the scalp when they "hatch"? (The thought of it makes me sick. I have this bug phobia, and lice and cockroaches are at the top of it. My mom just doesn't understand....)

BTW, I have olive oil in my hair. I heard it helps remove the eggs and nits.

  1. Boil your combs and brushes every day.

    Wash your bedding every day.

If you keep using RID, you will burn your scalp and hair.  The comb gets rid of the tiny eggs, so you have to comb your hair well.  You can't do it by yourself, get your mom to help.  I'd advise on getting a shorter haircut in the mean time.  Also, keep your hair clean, lice can't stick to clean hair.

  2. continue to do what your doing.. unless you want to shave your hair off.. anyways, try not sharing combs, or any hair products with your mom. also, try changing your towel, beddings and pillow.

  3. pick them out and wash your hair with another type of anti-lice shampoo.  Then you need to spray that rid spray all around your home and bedding.  If you don't get rid of the eggs that are on the bedding and around your home, they'll still return

  4. You have to comb out every single strand of hair.  Don't just run the comb through your hair, but separate into lots of tiny sections and make sure there is *nothing* left in your hair once you are finished.  Also, my friend kept getting lice because it was in her mattress, so when she slept they would climb into her  hair again.  Vacuum *everything*.  Put all of your soft objects into plastic bags and suffocate the lice for a few days.  Definitely replace your pillows, too!  Wash everything that you possibly can.

  5. comb your hair and use that antibiotics shampoo or whatever

  6. You gotta pick 'em out, girl. It's extremely annoying. I had it in 3rd grade. Buy some coconut shampoo. It'll help keep the eggs and nits out. All you can really do is sit and have your mom pick them out...once they're gone, they'll stay gone. My hair is long too, but you can't exacly just chop it off. If you want it gone you need to keep picking them out until they're gone. Then use coconut shampoo for a while.

    Good Luck!!

  7. Try using lots of Hair Conditioner. Lice can't stay attached to that very easily. When your hair is covered in Conditioner try combing through it again it might be easier.

There is such a dirty stigma attached to 'lice' but most kids get it. Get a professional chemical treatment and follow the instructions exactly - failing that cut your hair - they love long hair.
