Can't get wireless internet connected?

I have a *new* laptop, that I got for my birthday in June, yet I still haven't got my internet sorted out! We have a usb livebox or something like that called livebox 1550 and this is the third laptop in the house. Now, both my mum and brother's laptop are connected wirelessly and work fine yet whenever I try to connect mine it doesnt work! My mum has rung orange (which is the right make or whatever you may call it) and it is a windows vista laptop, but orange don't help at all! So i really REALLY don't understand how to get it to work! i actually dont understand anything to do with it at all... like what do i do etc, i mean, im not just gonna spend a huge amount of money on a laptop just to play stupid sims 2 games on! so, any help? if u need more info about my laptop, just ask and I'll add it.

do you have a network card. how many eahhanol points if any. have you tried connecting by wire?

ok you need a network card to connect by wireless or a wireless card. if you have a wireless card, it may be bust. go to your local computer shop to test it. then try connecting again..
