Question:

Can't load the My Yahoo page?

It's been a few weeks now that I can't open my My Yahoo page. I get an error and then the browser goes to a blank page. I assume it has to do with one of my My Yahoo content providers, but I can't get in there to see which one it is to delete it.

Is there a way to start over from a blank My Yahoo Page without abandoning my account?

Any why the heck does Yahoo not have any real customer service? There's no way to contact someone about an issue.

  1. 1. My Yahoo works using sign in and place holder cookies. Set you Privacy and Security to Medium High. Go to IE7 > Tools > Internet Options > Privacy tab > Slider bar to Medium High > Apply > Ok. =  IE7 > Tools > Internet Options > Security tab > Slider bar to Medium High > Apply > Ok.

    2. Try to encode My Yahoo. Move your mouse to the area of the expected "body" of the My Yahoo and right-click...on

the menu that appears, click on "Encoding"...on the menu that appears, if "Auto Select"

has a check mark, leave it as is...if not click "Auto Select"; then this menu will

disappear...right click again in the "body" to cause the same menu to display again...then

click on "Western European (Windows)"...you should now be able to view the "body" of

all messages that you couldn't view before...obviously, if the problem somehow occurs

again, do the same procedure described above again. I have no idea how or why these

settings get "changed" or "corrupted" after everyday use, but apparently they sometimes

    do.

    3. Hows your Active X  and scripting = The all-new Yahoo! Mail uses several XML features (they are complicated but trust us,

they help you) in the IE browser and in order to use those, you need to have Active X

    enabled.

Rest assured, there is no Active X download or installation of any kind. In order to utilize

these special browser capabilities, please enable Active X with the following steps.

To enable ActiveX for IE 6.x and 7.0 for Windows: you can do the following:

Click on "Tools" menu in the browser.

Select "Internet Options" from the pull-down menu."

Click on the "Security" tab on the top portion.

Click on the "Custom Level" button on the 'Internet' zone option.

You will see a scroll-down menu with radio buttons. Select the 'Enable' radio button for

    the following menu choices:

    Run ActiveX Controls and Plugins

Script ActiveX Controls Marked Safe for Scripting

Click on the "Ok" button to exit and save.

Click on the "Ok" button again to exit out of Internet Options menu.

Now, exit your browser and restart! ActiveX should now be enabled. You're all set!
