Question:

Can't login to my home computer?

My computer at home used to have one user ID and a password. I decided I do not need a passoword so I deleted it then. I was trying to do something else and chose to have the classic logon screen. When I restarted my computer I was at the classic login screen, the name shown was HP_Owner and I had to type a password. I tried to change the name to my old user name and old password but it did not work.

How do I fix this? I need to be able to use that computer again, and soon. If it helps I have Windows XP home edition.

  1. when login screed comes up, click ( Ctrl + Alt + Del ) click it 2 time or 3 until you get other style of screen, if your screen with black background so its ok, just replace the user name with ( administrator) and dont write anything in password then click ok, your computer should open like new computer, then go to user account and fix what need

  2. did you try hitting enter without picking a password?
