Question:

Can't make changes to new Yahoo with Firefox or IE?

After surfing this board for a week, it appears that the inability to change appearance, add content,or edit modules is due to a javascript conflict on my and probably your computer. Yahoo support claims it's not their problem since there are too many possiblities. (Obviously, the easy fix would be to reactivate the original my.yahoo, but that doesn't seem to be in the cards.) If anyone has solution in the next day or two that would be terrific, but I won't hold my breath. So it appears it will be adieu Yahoo, and hello Google.

  1. That isn't the solution.   There isn't one presently.   It is just plain and simple a Yahoo problem.   Nothing is working right.  I have tried editing my modules, layout, themes, tv shows, movies and nothing works right or holds the changes.    It is all a complete mess and I am still numb that they have done this to everyone.   Who tested the Beta anyway??   I have over 2000 people on my various Yahoo groups and NO ONE liked the Beta version, everyone chose to keep their old My Yahoo's and Yahoo didn't pay attention............ so it is THEIR Yahoo and not MINE anymore.   Very sad here!

Look at all the questions and answers about this subject.   It seems that the majority of people are unhappy.   Yahoo will be unhappy if their stock goes down and Google will be happy if everyone switches over.    Personally I think Google is the best thing since sliced bread for doing searches but I always felt comfortable and secure with My Yahoo as my home page and can't believe I have lost it forever.    Hopefully they are having Board meetings to work out this problem...... but some how I doubt it.    Don't mess with anything until they have worked the glitches out.    I can't even get back to the My Yahoo I had 2 days ago after the change that was preferable to the mess I have now!

  2. Do you run Adblock? I had similar problems, and am using the Adblock plug-in for Firefox. I selected "whitelist this page" in Adblock and the new MyYahoo site now works perfectly.

Also, if you do not want to whitelist the whole MyYahoo page, I managed to isolate the problem to the filter in Filterset.G: "http://l.yimg.com/a/lib/my/js/core_0.1.... Delete this and everything appears to work fine.
