Can't make dvd/vcr work after dvr box installed?

I can't get a dvd to play since I hooked up the directtv dvr. It's got to be something simple- can anyone provide a diagram or something?

  1. Make sure the DVD is connected DIRECTLY to the TV, not through the DVR.
