Can't play Dv-AVI movie using DIVX player?

The DV-AVI was created using movie maker, however my divx (HDD player) can't seem to play it. The player show "Reading index..." then with black page displayed

  1. AVI isn't a video format - it's  a file format.  The video format will depend on the coder / decoder (codec) used to create the avi file.  It could be DivX, XviD, DV etc.  It don't know what you used in WMM, but I don't think it can create DivX.
