Question:

Can't see in the dark?

Not literally. I've pretty bad myopia, my left eye is worse than my right eye. When I go to bed and turn the lights off, my left eye is a lot darker (everything is a lot darker) than my right eye, which is normal and blurry.

Also, why is it that my eyes feel so weird (like cross eye kind of) when I take them off after a while and they feel normal if I wake up and don't wear them at all?

Thanks

  1. Everyone sees poorly in the dark after turning off the lights.  It takes about 20 minutes for the eyes to adapt to the dark (there is a chemical change in the retina that improves light sensitivity).

I'm guessing that you either read in bed at night with a bedside light on your left side or lying on your right side with the right eye towards the bed and the left eye towards the ceiling light.  In either case, the right eye is in relative dark and the left eye in relative light for some time before you turn out the lights.  This gives the right eye time to dark adapt, but the left eye remains light adapted.  Once the lights are out, the right eye will have brighter vision.
