When I am skiing, no matter what kind of sunglasses/goggles I wear I can't see the bumps in the snow. Even mogles I can't really see them well. Is this normal or just my eyes?

  1. Seeing the bumps is a lighting issue usually.  Are you skiing at night?  If you have tried different lenses, be sure to try clear lenses first, if that doesn't work try yellow as they will make a better contrast of light.  If that still doesn't work, get your eyes checked.

  2. When I ski with just my glasses on I normally don't have a problem during the day, at night is a problem.

My polarized sunglasses help a lot during the day and becase they are a transition lens, I can wear then at night. They fade up to a light amber and they make the moguls at night a little easier to see....but it's still not great.

    This is what I wear:

They aren't cheap...mine were $155 for just the lenses...but they are the glasses I've ever used for skiing in 20 years.

Check with your optician to see if he carries them.

  3. If I'm hitting the bumps I avoid yellow lenses like the plague. I'll switch to purple/pink/rose lenses they help with the contrast of flat snow and bumps. If that doesn't work I completely avoid skiing moguls on hazy gray days and wait until the sunshine of march-skiing B4 I play in the bumps. The shadows on sunny days really helps to see the contrast
