Can't send SMS in japan

I got an iPhone from softbank but am unable to send messages inland. It givesme the note "erorr can't send message". Is there a special method in japan?? I typed in the number in this format 09012345678 and also with the international way. Anyone know?

If you are sending to another Softbank user then it should go through. If the other user has a Docomo or AU contract, then you need to use their phone's e-mail address instead of their number.

iPhone SMS service is only available from domestic iPhone to domestic iPhone/Soft Bank Cell phone in Japan.

Use e-mail for docomo/au user instead.

International is no problem. See the manual well again.
