  1. Do you have a problem with ear wax?

Maybe if you got a thorough cleaning that would help.  (Like with liquid medication and a bulb and stuff)

  2. 2 or 3 vodka martinis always works for me... (shaken, not stirred!)

  3. Things You’ll Need:

    Liquid to drink

    Ear plugs

    Gum or food

    Decongestant (Non-drowsy, over-the-counter)

    Step 1:

Ask the pharmacist to recommend an ear plug specifically designed for flying. There is an assortment on the market for this purpose.

    Step 2:

Find a decongestant that is nondrowsy and can be carried on the plane with you. There are many pill forms for adults and chewable tablets for children.

    Step 3:

About 30 minutes prior to take off, take the decongestant so it has time to work through your system. Take an additional dose if needed during the flight if the first dose wears off before landing.

    Step 4:

Place the ear plugs in your ears once seated on the plane. They will block out background noise, but you should still be able to hear the flight attendant speak.

    Step 5:

Some ear plugs should be twisted into your ears. Read the instructions provided to make sure they are properly inserted.

    Step 6:

Once your plane reaches full altitude, you may remove the earplugs.

    Step 7:

Reinsert the ear plugs prior to the plane's descent.

  4. Go to the store and buy Ginger Root pills.  They sell them all over the place.  It is nothing more than Ginger Ale soda in a pill form.  Take two before flying......

Also make sure to rinse your ears out with peroxide...

Chewing gum, not sweets, helps out a bit if you haven't tried that yet.

  5. hmm a common airplane ear tll the pilot to cool it down man minimize the lowering of pressure in our plane my ear aches hhaha kidding aside, hmmm chew more or try this hold your nose and then blow there must be a pressur relasing in your ear i tried this and it helps a bit hope that will help you

  6. Hi Nicolah -

As a USAF pilot, they taught us early on to clear our ears by doing what is called the valsalva method. This is not particularly attractive, but it is effective if done early and often throughout a flight. The secret is to hold your nose and blow GENTLY until you feel each ear pop just a little. You can do this while sitting in your chair at home. If you keep it gentle and do it frequently, especially during climb and descent when the pressure is changing, you can stay comfortable throughout the flight and be ready to go upon deplaning.

  7. Larry's answer is the best thing to do (never knew it's called valsalva method). I usually drink cold tablets and lots of liquid to unclog my noise whenever I knew tomorrow my whole day duty is to accompany our wet lease plane to all its 3 flights. I have been doing that valsalva method when I was still in my country's flag carrier as flight mechanic,a wonderful FA told me that trick and it works every time.

    Do that and be relieved.
