  1. first lie there and think of 5 things you can feel thats touching your body

then think of 5 things you can hear then 5 things you can see repeat this process again with eyes closed but instead of seeing imagine. So think of 5 things you can feel (E.g the water on your feet by the beach, feel hot sun on you, hear the water) this may send you off to sleep into a dream state...takes longer than you think to actually do

  2. well if you don't want to take sleeping pills like nyquil (to, me it's cheating AND unhealthy to rely on the pills) then i would suggest replaying a quiet (not heavy metal, mind you) song over and over again. make the song a peaceful one and focus solely on the lyrics. also to fall asleep, try drinking some warm milk and read a history book (or another boring book). to relax, i would look out my window and count the stars.

  3. A nice cup of hot chamomile tea.  Or a lavender sachet tucked into your pillow case.  A nice warm bath with lavender or chamomile bath salts or bath oil, and a good book or soft music.  Lavender and chamomile are both very soothing.

  4. In the medical world we call this racing thoughts.  It is or can develop into a psychological disorder.  You can try to relax in a quiet room counting yourself down.  Google meditation.  But if this doesn't work sometimes medication such as anti-depressants have to be prescribed.

  5. I usually have a measure or two of whisky followed by slow masturbation.

  6. xanex

  7. One word.....Ambien!  hahaha.  If you don't want drugs, a nice hot shower, then a cup of hot tea usually works...I always go thru fazes like this...Where i just can't sleep, stress or no stress...Really the best thing was Ambien, i took it for 2 weeks, got me back into a sleep pattern and i was all done with it.

  8. I usually get up and play a couple online games. Solitaire or Free Cell usually work, and I usually get sleepy after about 1/2 hr.

If that doesn't work for you, then maybe start a journal.  Write down what is on your mind and come up with quick solutions to get whatever is bothering you off your mind.

  9. I had the same problem (and still do sometimes) but i found that if around 430 pm (or at a time thats not close to bed) i workout really hard...i can fall asleep easily.  Don't drink any caffiene after 3 pm either...

an excersise i do before bed that helps though...is actually a pilates move and it gives your legs a refreshing tiredness whcih sometimes helps me get to sleep.  lay on your side and lift your top leg as far up as it goes and bring it down....and do about 25 of these til it BURNS then switch onto your other side and do it....it helps a lot to tire out your legs and helps me get to sleep sometimes.

the whole milk b4 bed never helped me.
