Can't view .avi files now (but can hear them)?

Question

I have some .avi files on my computer (nephews birthday and such) that all of a sudden I can't view. I can hear them, but there's no video.

Any video can be seen on the camera, but once I transfer it to the computer the above happens. It started doing this about a week ago. The crazy thing is I can play really old .avi files that I've had on my computer for a long time.

Any ideas?

try this out media play classic....does wonders!!

Looks like some video codec got corrupted. You will have to reinstall the video codecs
