Can't we all agree that we need to care 10% more about global warming?

Why turn out our lights for 60 minutes when we could go the extra mile for the Earth and keep our lights out for 66 minutes?

And would it kill us to cook our food just a little less? Chicken is still good if we cook it to 162 degrees instead of 180 degrees.

What harm could happen if we just shut off the car engine when going down hills?

Have you turn down your hot water heater to 99 degrees from the recomended 110 degrees?

Why aren't you doing your part? Don't you care about the Earth?

  1. yaa i care, but not so much im goanna freak out like u

  2. Global warming? Global warming where? All the major weather reporting stations have reported colder temperatures (the coldest in fact for 100 years) REPORTED not PREDICTED that is.  Winter seems to be hanging on later and later each spring. Last summer in a place that has no problem reaching over a hundred in the summer had no more then ten days all summer that were over a hundred.  It was a very cool summer. So were is the global warming.  ANY person with half a brain can see that the globe isn't getting warmer. Snow isn't falling less, and their is more ice.  Get a clue.

  3. I was accused in one of my questions of not being able to perform simple arithmetic.

    0*110%=0

Sure, I can afford to care 10% more than I currently do...

  4. its about raising awareness. i did it and although the greenhouse gas reductions were smal it could make others think more about the issue and maybe do somthing as well. 60 mins is just a nice round number so thats why they picked it.

i dont see the conection. thats like saying that if i make a running track 110 m are all other running tracks now too short?

    ----

    ???

    ----

yes exept i live in a country that uses C not F.

    ----

i am. what has gotten into you?

  5. I AGREEEEEEE!!!!! seriously. people need to care now..i mean dont you care not only about the future generations but of YOUR generation!!! this is happening NOW!

  6. I like things done faster... so I usually turn the heat up and stuff..... unless it saves me $$$$

  7. there ways to help the earth but goverment and oil companies dont want you to know about it. for example in 1997 i think gm made the ev1 it was the best electric car in the world very promising future what happend gm pulled the plug on it because there profits on replacement parts went down hill. watch the film how killed the electric car and youll see

  8. I don't believe in all the hype, because the US is the only country talking about it.  But I do recycle everything I can and I don't run water for ne reason...that's my 10%.

  9. I'm more concerned about the missing glaciers that where here 100,000 years ago, the darn things are missing, gone and I don't know what to do.  Does anyone have AL Gores E-mail address, I need to update him on current events..

  10. That isn't caring about global warming. That is caring about your bills and being energy efficient. So no, I don't agree on caring 10% more about global warming because it is a myth.

But.. Lol - shutting down your car while going down hills. Maybe when I get my permit next year, I'm going to try that. I'll get back to you and give you the results.

Edit: By the way, I like my chicken being cooked at 400F (Broil). Earth hour for 66 minutes sounds even stupider than it is now. The harm of shutting off a car while driving down hill is, you can crash into another car, a person, anything really. I'm not doing my part because I don't need to and we aren't going to run out of energy anytime soon. "Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only change". Yes, I care about the earth. Without the earth, I would be... Somewhere....

  11. This is a difficult question. I mean, there are billions of humans on this Earth, the majority of which are consuming so much energy, spewing car emissions into the air, and on a whole destroying our environment. I feel as if I am doing my part, yet my part is still not enough. I have a Prius, set my heating down low, use public transportation, walk or bike many places, do not have central air conditioning, and am primarily vegetarian. Even though that may seem like a lot, it is minuscule compared to the extent of the damage we have done on the Earth. The key is in numbers. Every one on the Earth needs to work together to fight this problem. I applaud you for your interest in this topic, and greatly encourage you to spread awareness on this crucial problem! Good Luck!
