2012 doomsayers are stating that on December 21, 2012(the supposed date of the end of the world), our sun will be aligned with the center of the Milky Way Galaxy. Now, I'm not any kind of astronomer and maybe I don't know what I'm saying, but isn't it possible to draw a straight line from the sun to the center of the galaxy at any time you want to? And wouldn't that be considered "lining up" the two objects? I mean, seriously...you take any two points, and you can draw a straight line between the two no matter where there are in space, either two dimensional or three dimensional, am I right?

Hypothetically speaking, any two objects would always be aligned with each other, right? Ok, maybe I'm thinking too two dimensionally. But if these people believe this, then is there a third point in space to give us a reference of how the sun and galaxy's center will be aligned? This third point would give us three dimensionality and hopefully would explain this "alignment". Explain his to me.

  1. No, I can't draw a straight line, certainly not one that long.   Nearly flunked my drafting class.  As for art class -- well, the teacher said I was "inventive".

  2. Yes, you can draw a line to connect 2 points...BUT there is a 3rd object involved the "2012" theory. the plane of the solar system..sun...center of the galaxy. This is the mystical alignment.

On the particular date, from the perspective of earth, these are supposed to be in alignment..or as close to perfect as it comes.
