Can 4mm bbs be used in a 6mm barrel?

No. even if you rolled them down the barrel, airsoft guns do not generate enough pressure to fire a steel ball that is too small for the barrel. The air will simply escape around the 4.5mm bb, leaving it to roll back out of the barrel as soon as you tip the muzzle down. putting 4.5mm bb's in a 6mm magazine will jam the magazine, and if the smaller bb's enter the action, the could jam it up as well. Don't try it.

Nope they wouldnt go far at all. Get bigger BB's from Ebay top recommendation.
