  1. its the drivers...cuz of rising gas prices. the faster you go the more gas that has to rush to the engine to keep with the speed that your going unless your like staying at that speed...at low speeds you get less mileage meaning lower than 60 mph but the higher you go the more you take away...but like you get more mileage when your going over 60 i believe

    its kinda confusing lol

  2. I have seen very few 4x4's driving under 40 mph and you must have seen so many Porsche's, BMW's, Range Rovers overtaking you at speeds well in excess of national limits. The only time they may possibly stay within 40 mph is off road and in urban limits.

  3. They can certainly go faster than Nissan Micras, or anything with a fish symbol on the back.

  4. I own a 4x4 full size truck cause i need one, I live in the frozen tundra where nobody plows the roads and the snow drifts

you have NO BUSINESS being on the same roads driving ur little tin can 40 mpg car

    get outta my way!

  5. if they have 4x4 engaged, it is likely that the gear ratios limit the speed. they are typically very heavy vehicles and their drivers may tend to be driving slower because of the rising gas prices.

But yes, they can go just as fast as any car or truck

  6. I think a Subaru Imprezza and also an Audi TT are pretty well capable of doing more than 40mph. I'm sure that it is just the driver. I know my Disco can do more, cruises all day on the legal limit, and there's still more to spare. Oh, and it's not a gas guzzler. Silly term used by silly people.

  7. I have a mad man in a 4x4 round my way who definately can go over 40mph

  8. Hi nothing,

It's definately just the drivers. The reason being that most of them bought these vehicles to 'pose' and they can't aford the petrol and 40 mph is about the most economical speed to drive at.

  9. Just the drivers.

  10. errrrr yeah - well the ones round here DEFINTATELY go over 40mph - especially in the 20 zones by the schools! Don't want little jonny late for class now do we?!
