Can A 13 Year Old Work In WV?

i was wondering can a 13 year old work in a public store or restraunt. like at a grocery be a bag boy or at a restraunt be a busboy.

    There are child labor laws in this country to keep things like that from happening. If we didnt have those you would see 8 year olds being forced to work in factories.

    I don't think so! I think it's Fed.Law 18 & over. Why do you want to work at the age of 13??? Your have All your life working! Trust Me! I am almost 62 & I am STILL working!

I was hired at age 13, but it was a summer seasonal job at a pool, so I was actually 14 when I began.  I  believe the youngest age is 14 no matter where you go, though.  You'll probably have to stick to fast food or a snack bar or something.       You could always go through babysitting certification (so you learn cpr and first aid), though, and offer babysitting.  The school year is about to start, so you will be able to begin babysitting jobs then.  I know that's not what you want to do, but it's a start and something to put on a job application, especially if you sit all of the time for one particular family.  Or, go around doing lawn service (weeding, mowing, raking leaves, shovelling snow, etc.)....I did that as well at your age.
