  1. not sure but keep it up and youll be there anyways...

  2. There is no lower age limit and the youngest ever qualifier was 15-year-old Tadd Fujikawa of Hawaii, who qualified in 2006.

  3. wow, -1 at oakmont, that's nice but tournament conditions are a lot different. it is at least 10 to 12 strokes harder at average. try to play a course on a monday right after a tournament.

  4. Yes, if you're good enough. A 12 year old attempted to qualify this year.  The US Open is truly open.  There are only 2 reasons why someone wont win it.  You didnt sign up or you're not good enough. Thats it.

  5. first to the idiot above, francis ouimet was not the youngest winner of all time get your fricking facts straight you fricking moron. the youngest winner was John J. McDermott at age 19, Francis was 20 you idiot.

you have so much to learn, you're not good enough.  Look at who had to qualify for the US Open this year, Davis Love, Mark O'meara, Chad Campbell, Rich Beem, ect

And look at players who didn't make it, Fred Couples, Chris DiMarco, Ryan Moore, JJ Henry and the list goes on.

You think 1 meaningless round at oakmont can make you US Open quality, you're stupid, i know you're only 15, but your thought process is absolutely dumb. shoot under in tournament pressure numerous times over years, then talk about being good enough to play in the us open.  i'm 17 and shot 66 once when i was 15, and i never had the thought that i was good enough to play in the US Open, think of the pressure you'll be under in the local qualifier, you wont get through that the first time, then, lets say you do get through the local qualifier, then you have 36 hole sectional qualifying, and boom, now what, do you think you can hold up for 36 holes against PGA tour winners, major championship winners? give me a break 15 year old.  (and yes, Tadd did make it when he was 15, but you will not hear of Tadd Fujikawa in 10 years)  grow the h**l up and seriously think before you talk, you think you're good enough to beat out Fred Couples, Chris DiMarco, and Davis Love for a spot in the Open, shut up kid, just shut up.

  6. You can play if your handicap index is low enough, and you succeed in regional and sectional qualifying.  I am not sure who the youngest to play has been - the youngest to win was Francis Quimet.

  7. You will need to pass a series of qualifying tournaments (local, then sectional) before you can play in the US Open.

In order to enter the qualifying tournaments, you will need an official USGA Handicap Index of 1.4 or less.

You will also need your parent's approval, since you are under 18.

A 12-year-old girl played in the US Women's Open last year, so age is not a barrier.

  8. i don't think so.

  9. Not sure about the age. And while 1 under at Oakmont is better than I play in my dreams (and I'm also 15 BTW), keep in mind that Oakmont is different from US Open Oakmont. Buick Invitational Torrey is even far easier than US Open Torrey. But keep it up, I hope to see you on TV one day, while I'm still sitting at home with my 15 handicap.

  10. Age doesnt matter, you just have to have the required Handicap Index to play in the local qualifier.  Tad Fujikawa qualified at 15 years old a couple Opens ago.
