Can A s*x Offender Live A Normal Life?

I'm 21 and about to have 2 register. It's up to the judge cuz of the circumstances which I was 19 at a party drinkin and hangin out and a girl gave me a ride to the gas station for cigs then one thing led to another and next mornin she was 15 and took her mom's car and to get out of it brings me in the picture.... Now 2 years later they want to convict me and laws have changed but simplsy they have the option of not forcing me to register they have offered just probation for 2 years (most people get 1 year jail 4 years pro) so i don't take it 2 trial. If they choose to make me register can I appeal being the fact that I am far from a threat to anyone??? (Not all s*x Offenders are creeps but yes 90% of them are prolly 95% are it does ruin good peoples lives though)

As unfortunate as your situation is, I want to know where the sickos live to protect my kids.  Maybe the registry should list in detail the crimes committed.  I wouldn't be afraid of you, but your listed crime probably is the same as a real sicko--I should be able to see the details.

I don't know anything about this, but if she lied about her age, then perhaps you could press charges of some sort. Then you could negotiate to have everyone's charges dropped.  Everything has gotten so rigid and PC since I was growing up. In those days a lot of girls had affairs with their high school teachers or college professors. It was frowned upon, but no one would think of pressing s*x crime charges. There was a question here a while back by a young man who married the girl he had relations with when she was a minor. He was arrested and convicted, but now they are married and he still has a record as a s*x offender.

!Unfortunately many of the decisions we make carry through with us longer in life than we may know.  If you truly do believe that you do not deserve this "label" then your best bet would be to go to trial and see what a jury of your piers decides. s*x offender is a title that you will carry forever, and as far as I know it can not be removed, your attourney will know better than me however, as I am not one. We all have our different version of every story, and most of us do know what the truth really is...do what you can live with, and are able to sleep with. Above all else try to learn from everything good or bad

I have always wondered why? people take advantage of the vulnerability of others, I have always said that let the Punishment feed the Crime, you say that it was not your Fault of what happened between you and the Girl, but the Law took into consideration, of what the Girl said happened, if it did or not and they believed her, now you want to know if you can Live a normal Life, being branded a s*x Offender.

I would say that it depends on your Conscience if you walk with your Head down, and do not see People into their Eyes they are going to look down at you. but if you did not do anything wrong hold your Head High, and let People see you all they want.

The only one who is going to Judge us is God so,  if I were you I, would be on my Hands and Knees and asking the old Mighty to help you, in this predicament you are in.

As far as I'm concerned, you were both kids. They call you an adult at 18, but you can't buy a beer legally till you're 21. But you can get sent to war though. Ok, you got loaded and got it on with a 15 year old. Bad boy. Bad girl. You were both wrong. Unfortunately, YOU get  wrongly labled in your case.  I think in your situation, being referred to as a s*x offender is wrong. It's not like you hung around the playground wearing only a trench coat handing out taffy's.

I agree with another poster here who said he would like to see just what happened. If it boils down to 2 teenagers getting drunk & having consensual s*x, in my opinion, you are not a s*x offender. A person who used poor judgment drinking under age & having s*x with a young girl. But not a life long s*x offender.

Get yourself a GOOD attorney. I don't think under the circumstances you descibed that you deserve a life of misery for one nights poor judgment. There are a h**l of a lot more kids doing the same thing tonight & everynight. Are they ALL s*x offenders too? No.

Look i feel bad for you cause it's you're life in everyone's mouth, but that's the reason you should think more with you're top head then bottom one, now just for that moment of pleassure you're gonna be marked, isn't it sad? you're probably not a bad guy, but come on guys, keep your peckers in you're pants, there are too many little girls that look 21, investigate before you hook up, it's worth it as you can see......good luck dude...

No one will let you forget about it. They have people that will come to your house and protest, and I've heard it is impossible to get it taken off your record unless you are proven innocent. I would do anything you can to not register. They have laws that make you live in certain areas, and if you ever have kids there will be problems taking them to school and a lot of other bs. I hope you learned a lesson, and I hope they don't do this to you so you have a chance to move on.

If you get tagged as a s*x offender, No, you cannot lead a "normal" life. Normal lives allow you to live anywhere you wish. s*x offenders cannot. Being convicted will also cause large hassles in employment.
