  3. That all depends, if it's marijuana............or handfuls of prescription medication you are trying to take in order to injure yourself.

No they can't.  What they can do though is make sure you are taking it as directed.  As a PO, I sometimes require my clients to bring in their bottles and I count their meds to make sure they have the right number of pills left.  If you have a prescription for a months worth of pills and they are gone in a week, it doesn't matter if you have a prescription for them or not.  Of course, keep in mind that every jurisdiction is different and maybe there are some that do let the POs do that.  I don't know except in what I have experienced. I have never heard of that happening though.

  5. The doctor's prescription over rides the probation officer.  But you must provide a copy of the prescription to the probation officer.  Just your word is not enough.
